THE CONDITIONS

WE CREATE

Experience the data. Understand the story.

The FutureYOUth Initiative is gathering insight from young people and adults in participating communities across Connecticut to better understand the conditions shaping young people’s transition toward adulthood. On December 9, 2026, that insight will come to life through an immersive experience unlike a traditional conference or presentation. Before you see the findings, you will experience the conditions. Then you will consider what young people and adults have been telling us, and what those insights require of all of us.

More Than a Presentation

Your experience begins by moving through a series of immersive environments inspired by what young people and adults in participating communities across Connecticut have shared. Afterward, you will gather with everyone else for a shared presentation in which key findings are revealed, interpreted, and connected to the responsibility of adults, organizations, and systems.

Data Can Tell Us What Is Happening.

Experience helps us understand why it matters.

Too often, data is presented as charts, graphs, and statistics. While those numbers are important, they do not always help us understand the experiences behind them. The Conditions We Create was designed to bridge that gap. Before you see a single finding, you will move through immersive environments designed to help you understand the conditions young people and adults in participating communities across Connecticut have described.

Understanding Is Only the Beginning

For participants who want to go further, a limited-capacity ACT for Youth Professional Learning Experience facilitated by Cornell University will follow the morning program. The session will help participants consider how what they heard may apply within their organizations and communities. Interest can be indicated during registration.

Because space is limited, indicating interest does not guarantee a seat. Selected participants will receive separate confirmation.

Understanding Is Where Change Begins.

The FutureYOUth Initiative invites educators, community leaders, employers, practitioners, parents, researchers, policymakers, funders, and partners from across Connecticut to join a cross-sector conversation about the conditions shaping young people’s lives. Together, we can listen more carefully, understand more fully, and consider what adults, organizations, and systems must build differently.
