Young People Are Already Telling Us What They Need.
The question is whether we're listening.
The FutureYOUth Initiative (FYI) is a statewide effort focused on understanding the conditions that shape youth transition into adulthood, what's working well, where systems are falling short, and what needs to be redesigned. Because insight must come before intervention.
Youth Support
Every day, schools, families, community organizations, employers, and policymakers make decisions intended to help young people succeed. New programs are launched. New resources are invested. New strategies are introduced. But too often, those decisions begin with solutions instead of understanding. FutureYOUth Initiative exists to change that. Rather than asking, "What should we do?" we begin by asking, "What are today's young people experiencing?"

We're Asking a Different Question.
Most conversations about young people focus on outcomes. FutureYOUth Initiative focuses on understanding the conditions that influence those outcomes. We believe lasting change begins with better questions. Not "How do we fix young people?" But "What are young people experiencing, and what are those experiences telling us about the environments we've created?" That shift changes the conversation. And conversations shape communities.
Understanding Youth Takes More Than One Method.
Understanding young people isn't about collecting more information. It's about building a richer picture of their experience through data, through dialogue, and through direct youth voice.
SEE360™: a proprietary conditions-based assessment
SEE360 is FYI's proprietary conditions-based assessment, designed by Dr. Dayeshell P. Muhammad. It gives communities a statewide view of how young people are experiencing the transition into adulthood.

These facilitated conversations bring that picture to life. Young people speak directly about their own experience, adding the depth and context that data alone can't provide.
Something Important Is Happening Across Connecticut.
The FutureYOUth Initiative is bringing together young people, schools, community organizations, employers, researchers, funders, practitioners, and policymakers around one shared purpose: building a better understanding of youth transition. On December 8–9, 2026, that work comes together through two signature experiences: FutureCon, a youth-centered experience designed for high school students, and The FYI Data Reveal, an immersive experience where leaders and communities explore what Connecticut's young people are telling us.
